Anti-aging: the 12 best oils for the body

Each plant has specific properties. If all the oils that come from it are nourishing, it is important to know the specificities of each to get the most anti-aging benefits. Zoom on the 12 best vegetable oils that will prevent skin dryness and aging.

For a long time, the oil was used only in the summer. Today, it is a multifunction care product that can be applied throughout the year. Vegetable oil is indeed rich in essential fatty acids (omega-3 and 6). “It deposits a fatty layer on the surface of the epidermis, which strengthens the intercellular cement and the hydrolipidic film preventing the evaporation of water”, specifies Nadine Leconte, R & D director at Nuxe. In other words, it prevents skin dryness, nourishes and hydrates and it makes the skin softer and more supple. Ditto for the hair …

A dry touch effect, less greasy, more comfort

To be more pleasant and suitable for both skin and hair use, the formulations have evolved. These new oils often have a dry or even very dry feel, because their composition is worked to lighten them. “A traditional dry oil results from the combination of mineral and vegetable oils, silicones and esters of synthetic origin”, explains Nadine Leconte. “The texture is therefore easier to spray, less sticky or greasy on the skin, and requires less massage to penetrate. However, you should know that the synthetic ingredients do not provide any nutrients to the skin, and the drier an oil, the less nourishing it is!

More natural and organic

Today we find completely natural or even organic dry oils. They consist of a subtle dosage between different vegetable oils. “A good formula must respect the right balance, choosing oils according to their properties (more or less fatty) and adding esters of plant origin (coconut derivatives)”, specifies the expert. Authorized in organic, they avoid the weighting side of certain vegetable oils. “Therefore, they are very pleasant to use, do not stick and penetrate quickly. Best of all,” they are as nourishing as pure vegetable oil “.

How to use vegetable oils on the body?

  • We use the oil after the shower: to nourish and saturate the skin, on the bust, arms, stomach and thighs by massaging each area in small circular movements.
  • A stopper is poured into the bath water: to make a velvet skin. The equivalent of a teaspoon of oil (or two or three sprays) leaves a protective film and softens. This limits the feeling of tightness due to hard water.
  • It is applied to the skin: to highlight the rounded shoulder or neckline before going out at night. But also on the legs.

How to use vegetable oils on the face?

  • Apply a few drops of oil : after having heated it in the hollow of the hands by rubbing them, and we carry out small smoothing movements, always starting from the center towards the contour of the face.
  • Mix a few drops with your night cream : for a beautiful wake-up call the next morning, especially when you have dry, dehydrated skin or when returning from a vacation in the sun. Perfectly nourished, the epidermis becomes more supple.
  • Avoid applying it in the morning : so you don’t have shiny skin all day long.
  • We forget it if we have problems with pimples and slightly oily skin. It would only make things worse …
